Living in So Cal

Funny story?

Yesterday I went grocery shopping for supplies for my earthquake kit. I bought 10 gallons of water, tons of canned goods, first aid supplies, dog and baby supplies. I insist on housing all this stuff but worry that in the event we do need the supplies, we'll be in really bad shape. Of course, the checker thought I was weird...but he was from California too, so he understood.

For the last three nights or so, I have been having earthquake dreams and "the feeling", so I feel a little better that the kit is up to snuff and ready to go.

So I am sitting here, blurfing, and I hear two LOUD booms and the desk and chair shake for about 2 seconds. I instinctively get into "geological mode", ready to swoop up the Carry-On and head under the doorframe... the Luggage Pet did not move. Could have cared less... Spooked, but not panicked, I check my earthquake map. Small quake in Riverside a few minutes ago...2.6- that could have been it... nooo...how could I have felt 2.6 all the way from Riverside...I'm no rookie...what the heck was it?

The Shuttle. lol The Shuttle landed in California today. Well, if the crew wants to stop by, there is plenty of spam and noodles here for them.

haha we felt the boom down here in San Marcos, too. Sounded like the shuttle landed on the roof! Oh, it was probably those pesky aliens that came back for more bodies. Check your closets and outhouses, count your chickens. Gather up the kids, there's spam and noodles at Julie's tonight.

I like your new banner. Are those eggs?

I meant the banner on the Review Blog, of course. There are no eggs on this banner.

tooo funny! I live in So. Cal also as you probably already know. I've been meaning to get my emergency kit together too. I'll take a sonic boom over a quake anyday. I always run to usgs.gov myself whenever our walls shake.

Can you believe I missed the whole thing? I was in the car, music blaring, completely oblivious. I hope the sonic boom is what your premonition was all about.
