Artword: Birthday

page seven

I am having so much fun with the Artword blog! I love coming back each week to see the projects. This week’s theme is “birthday”.

I am so proud of this piece for a couple of reasons: one, this is the first acrylic piece I have made that has not made me want to vomit. Second, I mixed all the colors myself and they did not all turn to grey! This piece becomes page seven in my art book.

I stamped the justjohanna cupcake image on newsprint which has the music for “Happy Birthday” printed on it. Once the paints were dry, I attached the cakes to the paper. Next, I doodled the frame using gold metallic paint pen and then traced over it with black pen. Finally, a cherry on top! This piece is 8x8”.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
