Wednesday Stamper: Autumn Colors

You never know what you're going to get with alcohol ink, but the effects are awesome when you do get something good! It's hard to capture on camera, but I used a lot of gold mixative in this piece. It's hard to focus on fall and fall activities when the weather is still warm. Today we got a break and the temperature dropped 10 degress from yesterday! We didn't get over 76 degrees in the house today. No air conditioning; it felt great to have the windows open.

Are you ready for tomorrow's fun? World Card Making day has all of us at justjohanna stamps all reved up! I'll be hosting two challenges on my blog tomorrow: The first challenge will be at 8am my time (there is a clock on the right) and I will be back to host a second challenge at 6pm. You can use any stamps you like in the challenges! They are open to everyone! What a deal! All you have to do is come back before midnight on the 7th to post a link to your entry in my comments on each challenge! Did I mention the grand prize is a $250 justjohanna shopping spree???

Hi Julie, this piece is quite beautiful!

I don't like being ignorant ... but I have a few questions about this contest - questions I am sure everyone else knows the answer to.

So by cards, do you mean greeting cards? or ACEO? or are there any guidelines? Do you just mean a small work of art?

Also, by stamps, you mean you have to use an ink stamp that you put on an ink pad and use that in the image?

Sorry to be silly ... but I am trying to decide if it makes any sense for me to be part of the fun ... and first I need to understand the rules!

Thank you!!!

It's prefect :)

Hi Diane! You're supposed to make a greeting card, but I will accept ACEOs as well. You can use an ink pad stamp, a catved stamp you create with paint...just something that is physically stamped onto the project. Does that help? :)

Julie, the colors are magnificent and what a great piece for WS theme. When you say "gold fixative" what product is it? I'm not familiar with it but it sure gives a beautiful result to your AI background.

Hi Jennifer! 'Gold Mixative' is what Ranger calls the metallic version of the gold alcohol ink...there is also silver, pearl and copper. :)

oh, and I am grateful to my friend Diane for asking the questions i was a little too shy to ask myself. you have faithful readers, but not all of them are "in the know" (like moi) and would like some guidelines if at all possible when you talk about your projects and challenges. Please and thank you?

holy cow, Julie. The colors and background design are phenomenal. (I rarely use that word which might be an excuse if I misspelled it.) I mean, like, wow!

Really gorgeous artwork!
I lvoe alcohol inks & you really just don't get the same effect twice. I have never tried the mixatives yet, still experimenting with the inks.
