Billy Squire is hot. That’s all I have to say about that.
Hmm…let’s see…in 7th grade, I was ice skating with my friend in La Jolla, CA. I don’t remember the events that transpired exactly, but from witness accounts, I fell on the ice and was taken off by rink personnel. I had amnesia and do not remember that day at all. My family was contacted and I was taken to the hospital for a CAT scan of my noggin. Good thing I don’t remember the CAT scan, because about 2 months ago, my doctor ordered another Cat Scan and I couldn’t do it. I have no idea how I survived that procedure back in 1984... My family told me that for the period of about 8 hours all I did was ask the same questions over and over. I have no recollection of the car ride to the hospital although I was awake and speaking. I could not remember my telephone number in the rink office, but it sounded really familiar when my friend told the manager there. Every once in awhile I have flash backs of a fat dude wearing a striped rugby shirt whizzing around way to fast on the ice. I think that he whizzed by me and I fell. It’s weird to have amnesia. Luckily, I am totally normal now….. bwahahaahahahahaaaaaaaaa.

We're taking a little turn this week for 80's Tuesday for a close look at fashion trends of the decade. Take a little trip with me and read this snip-it from wikipedia:
1980s fashion incorporated distinct trends from different eras, including ancient Egypt, early 20th century English royalty, Victorian era buccaneers, and punk rockers from the 1970s. The most conservative, more masculine fashion look that was most indicative of the decade was the wide use of shoulder pads (similar to those worn in ice hockey). While in the 1970s the silhouette of fashion tended to be characterized by close fitting clothes on top with wider looser clothes on bottom, this trend completely reversed itself in the early 1980s as both men and women began to wear loose shirts and tight close fitting pants. Men wore power suits (which they sometimes jogged in to work since they were stiff when they were bought) as a result of the greater tendency for people to display their wealth. Brand names became increasingly important in this decade, making Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein household names. In the United States, Madonna was known as the "Material Girl" and many teenage girls looked to her for fashion statements. The popular movie Flashdance (1983) made ripped sweatshirts well-known in the general public. The television shows Dallas and Dynasty also had a similar impact.

Back in the day, every Tuesday night at Emerald City was “80’s” night. So, in keeping with tradition, I give to you, vintage Luggage.
Feast your eyes on these two! Yours truly on the left, and to show I was not alone at being a complete dork, my good friend Shari is on the right. No, I did not perm my hair. Yes, Shari is holding a rubber chicken. It’s funny, right? And…YES…we’re still friends.. (At the moment anyway!)
This was a failed attempt at a United Colors of Benetton advertisement. You remember the ads, crazy kids posed casually in a white room in various knitwear… Some of the kids had mohawks (shocking!), some of them were just weird. Most of the time they were holding flags (I’ll spare you the pictures we took posing with the Union Jack) But they did one thing well; sell overpriced sweaters.
I can’t remember anything else about this photo. Shari probably drove the Cutlass over, we probably had fish tacos after school that day…I can’t imagine we did anything else with those hair dos!!
I have been blurfing so much! I decided to give you all a little piece of Luggage today because I am frustrated that so many blogs are incomplete. While I completely understand you may not what to divulge secret information for fear of identity theft, is there any harm in listing where in the hell you are?
