iTunes update...

I am updating my famed musical collection known as "Julie Lounge" and am looking for ideas of music you like to listen to when you're in the mood for 'art'. Take a moment to leave me some ideas, won't you please? Cheers!

The Doors, Tchaikovsky, Justin Timberlake, James Blunt, Damien Rice, Beethoven... all mixed & matched. Oh, and Jesse Cook, Santana, Mario Franguolis, Hans Zimmer's soundtracks...

I haven't updated my tastes much in the last few years, since my kids were born. Now that my oldest is 7, we listen to ...no, don't make me say it... gulp... bubblegum pop like Ashley Tisdale, Hillary whatever and Miley Cyrus and the gang from High School Musical.

Which brings me to what I would really pick for myself - my soothing, comfy old jazz collection: Sarah Vaughn - always and forever, Blossom Dearie, Peggy Lee, Paul Desmond, Oscar Peterson. Not much help, I know... How about High School Musical, the Karaoke version? Hehe

That's a difficult question, Julie, it would depend on the mood of the piece I was working on. Jamie Cullum (Jazz) to relax, Amy Winehouse for moody, Red Hot Chillis or Foo Fighters, some classic 80s. Loads of my stuff is Brit Indie rock, but I like the Black Eyed Peas! My husband likes Hans Zimmer soundtracks too.

I don't have any specific preference. I do really like the music on Jill's (inkgenious) blog. It always seems to go with her post. Oh, and don't hate me but I'm not a big Beatles fan.

I'm a little weird in the music dept. I love to crank up Queen, Aretha, or the soundtrack from Rent or Wicked. I'm also a big fan of a crazy little bluegrass group called the Be Good Tanya's. Oh, and the music from Oh Brother Where Art Thou. Also like Eric Clapton unplugged.
