Author: Lost Luggage

Today is the day I have been waiting for…for a long time. Well, probably a little less than a month anyways. I am headed down south to a fancy painting and transfers class hosted by Golden Acrylics. It’s a two day class and I can’t wait! The last class I attended at this place was my Michael deMeng class…needless to say, I am excited.

Since I am driving a really far distance for the class, I thought that now was as good a time as any to update my autobiography. I don’t think I have mentioned my autobiography on the blog yet, so I’ll explain.

Pictured is a little green and purple bejeweled journal I picked up at Papryus. It measures about 4x6 inches and I use it to keep track of my art supplies. I don’t know how many pages are in it, but it is about an inch thick.

The problem is this: every time I go into an art supply store, my head is on a swivel. You know the feeling…rhyme and reason are out the window (along with your budget), your knees start to shake, I usually break out into a small sweat... With my autobiography in hand, I can remain cool and collected- no matter what’s on sale.

The autobiography holds a small swatch of every color of ink I have, every color of paint, every pencil, my critters (justjohanna images….who in the heck can keep track of all those guys!), punches (did I have a giga a mega or a jumbo??) Debbie’s been with me when I have been trying to remember that one…the phone call to Mr. Luggage from a craft/art supply store is never pretty. Talk about a buzz kill....

So now I am all organized. I am pretty sure I initially got this idea from Jan…she posted pictures of her swatch book one day and I thought that was the best idea! You should try it. For every call you don’t have to make to your husband, the more money you can get away with spending! Afterall, who wants to hear the voice of reason when shopping for paints…

What a great idea Julie! I will have to do that too! However my DH is the one that got me a set of prismacolor markers - 156 of them!

Can't wait to hear about your class- I have been using those cheap acrylics from M's the 50cent a bottle time- I need some good ones I think!

Have lots of fun!

I am impressed with your organizational skills! Very smart!
Enjoy the classes. I'm sure that you'll learn a lot... I wish I could be there too.

I need to do an autobiography. I started one, but I don't know where it is. (You've seen my craft room.) I can't remember what I have either. You're an inspiration to me. Thanks.

Julie, I am hyperventilating at the sight of your autobiography! When I was at work I was obsessively organised, and had a spreadsheet for everything, but now I am at home I haven't brought those skills with me. I *want* to start a book (maybe a loose leaf, I could alter the cover!) I am so inspired!
I hope you enjoy your class. It's so stimulating to work with these creative people. I can't wait to see what you make!

Have a wonderful time at your class. Yes, I really need a cool book of colors and stuff, too. It's on my list.

So cool and neat!
You must get tons of art supplies...this is too far for me to catch
But the swatch looks very very cool. I like it!
