Luggage Open House

My close friends will tell you I have been having a hard time lately. See, my house is on the market. We are trying to move back to my home town (San Diego). We've had a lot of potential buyer activity since the beginning of May and I am SO tired of it! Consequently, I can't make a mess. I am cramped up in my den, staying neat, tidy and ready for walk throughs. Every day.

Since there is a walk through scheduled for later today, I am staying neat again, and thought it best to just post a pictorial for you to enjoy- a rare look into the Land of Lost Luggage. In the picture above, you can see that there is a sewing project taking place today.

This picture shows my limited workspace. Here I sit, in front of the computer, working away. When I am not sending out assignments for the justjohanna design team, I am emailing and making art- simultaneously! Note to self: new house- computer resides in a different room than the art supplies.

There is a ceramic pot I keep on my desk. It holds the watercolor paper and scraps I use a lot. My Julification pens and scraps of French text are also in "the pot".

About one year ago, I thought I was such a genius for rescuing this little cabinet from our garage to hold my art supplies. Someone made a comment like, "That will be filled up in no time.."

The cabinet started to overflow upwards at first...then to the neighboring bookshelf and then onto the walls! Now it's spread to the closet too. And don't mention this to Mr. Luggage, but there are things hidden in the garage too...oh no..

Here is a caddy type tray that I can get in and out of the closet quickly...oddly enough it looks like a mess, but I know right where everything is! Honest.

These flowers reside in my "area" too. They were a present from justjohanna. Aren't they perky? I like how she used vintage ear clips for the center.

Here's a look at where I stack my commonly used inks...

Here is my paint bin. Since I have to pack up at any moment, the bookcase is loaded with these catch all bins. I have the contents sorted nicely, I think...like there is a paint bin, punch bin, ribbon bin, paper bin...yuck! I hate bins. God, get me a bigger space.

Here's my sewing area..I can keep my rear firmly planted in my chair and roll to it. HA! See that USPS box? My most prized posession is in there. MOST prized..from someone I Love very much. Why isn't it out you ask? Because it's one of those Spinal Tap moments where it's so special you can't look at it...you surely can't even point at it. I'll keep you in suspense. If anything happened to that item during a walk-through, I would die. I'll unveil it once I get out of here. For now, it sits in the peanuts, in the box, and if you come over to Casa de Luggage, please...no flash photography.

And, a small snapshot of the stamps. Sigh..these are my "non-seasonal" justjohanna images mostly. There are a couple of others in the foreground. The seasonal stuff is in a heap in the closet. Waiting for my cue to come out.. Oh..above the stamps I hang my received art and some of my current projects. If you send me something, it can also hang on the wall. -wink wink- I see projects from Zorana, Nancy, there's that ATC that Debbie made and won the contest, mail art from Tova, a note from Johanna and a card and ATC from Isa! Fun!

Usually, at any given moment, the "Carry-On" is quietly beside me secretly pulling pens out of their cups and stashing them inside the printer. Am I the only one who has to check the innards of the printer before printing something? I do it anyway...because she's really cute.

I'm a football fan. This is flying outside my window today. There was a pre-season game last night. We lost, but it's just practice. There is a new coach this season and I am very excited about it! I don't care what you girly girls think, on Sunday's you'll find me watching the game and eating nachos with Mr. Luggage and friends. That's just the way it is.

I hope you enjoyed the tour today. Don't forget to take care of your servers, and if you have anything in the coat check...it's too hot for a coat here...let's see..try the clams, I'll be here all week!

Thanks for the tour. I can wait to see what is in the box. I love waiting for surprises. You need more work space, girl. I hope they buy the house today so you can get moving.

Ok, that's it. Debbie, Tami and I are coming over to see what's in that box. I hope your house sells soon. Having a house on the market sucks.

Can you just whisper what is in the box to me? Type it here reeeeeeal quietly and no one else will know but you and me. Ok? I want to know.

Thanks for the fun tour of the land of lost luggage. I remember all too well of the woes of having a house on the market. I've moved 15 times!!

Thanks for the tour, Julie. What is it with children and printers? Dan just ate a friend's ink cartridge from her printer, lovely! It must be horrible having to keep your work space 'staged' for viewings. I hope you sell soon. And I, too, would love to know what's in the box!

Loved the opportunity to peek in your workspace. It must be very difficult to create and keep it all neat and organized. I'm sure that the little carry-on is "helping" a lot :-)

Wow!! I love this post a lot! I enjoy this rare opportunity see how Julification happens!

Limited space? No, your space is much bigger than mine. My roon combines all function from entertainment, studying, surfting, sleeping to stamping...! And I envy you will have a bigger place!

PS Can I make a little suggestion? Keep computer in the craft room... sometimes, I just need PC to break through my block... :P

Thank you for the tour! And ah-ha!!! You are a big football fan and you DO enjoy those big superbowl games. But atleast you are not those "hardcore fans" ONLY on that single day. Your carry on is so adorable, i see why you cant get mad. lol

I love your abode! I hope the house sells soon. I might be in your shoes after Sunday, I am scared to death but I think this might be the best thing for us to do...:)
